A Tattered Quilt Top

As the story of this collection unfolds, a tattered quilt top was found. It was not yet quilted. Little rips and stains, which adds to the character. I mended some, and worked around others. But used almost every inch of that quilt top in this vest.

The pattern is the Uniform Dress pattern, which can be worn underneath. Leaving the front seam open, and adding closures of tiny pearl buttons. The buttonholes are tucked into the prairie point tabs down the front.

The vest can be worn in many ways. As a summer dress on its own. Layered over pants or skirts. Dressed up or down. The neckline is the perfect opportunity to layer detachable collars. Cropped jackets, mid length or floor length also lend well.
